Our owner and head optician, Parul Shah, knew she wanted to pursue a career in optics from a young age. Her journey began at just 12 years old when her father was diagnosed with cataracts, leading to frequent visits to the optician. It was during these appointments that Parul’s fascination with optics blossomed.

Parul recalls, “When my father was diagnosed with cataracts I always went with him to his appointments because I was fascinated by the equipment and technology. I also wanted a career that would allow me to help others, so I studied hard and graduated from Manchester University in 1987.”

In 1998, Parul took a significant step by acquiring our practice and embarking on a complete refurbishment of the building. She expanded our space by an impressive 2,000 square feet, creating two consulting rooms, ample display space for our extensive range of spectacles, and a dedicated waiting area for clients to enjoy a comfortable experience.

When you visit our practice today, you can expect a warm and inviting atmosphere, complemented by our genuinely friendly staff. Parul leads our team, supported by experienced dispensing opticians Maxence and Parvinder.

Additionally, we take pride in regularly training pre-registration opticians, many of whom choose to stay with us due to our supportive environment. They are always ready to offer assistance and advice whenever you need it.
